\nUnity of Religion<\/strong>
\nBah\u00e1\u2019\u00eds view the world\u2019s major religions as a part of a single, progressive process through which God reveals His will to humanity. Bah\u00e1\u2019u\u2019ll\u00e1h, the Founder of the Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed Faith, is recognized as the most recent in a line of Divine Messengers that stretches back beyond recorded time and includes Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster, Christ and Muhammad.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fundamental principle enunciated by Bah\u00e1\u2019u\u2019ll\u00e1h, the followers of His Faith firmly believe, is that Religious truth is not absolute but relative, that Divine Revelation is a continuous and progressive process, that all the great religions of the world are divine in origin, that their basic principles are in complete harmony, that their aims and purposes are one and the same, that their teachings are but facets of one truth, that their functions are complementary, that they differ only in the non-essential aspects of their doctrines and that their missions represent successive stages in the spiritual evolution of human society.\u201d

Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed Sacred Writings<\/strong>
\nIn addition to the writings of Bah\u00e1\u2019u\u2019ll\u00e1h, Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00eds also recognize as divine scripture the writings of the B\u00e1b; the Quran; the Torah; the Bible; and the sacred writings of Buddhism, Hinduism and Zoroastrianism.<\/p>\n

Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed Organization and Leadership<\/strong>
\nThere is no clergy in the Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed Faith. The organization and leadership (the \u201cAdministrative Order\u201d) of the Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed Faith is organized around freely elected governing councils which operate at the local, national, and international levels. This hierarchy assigns decision-making to the lowest practicable level\u2013thereby instituting a unique vehicle for grassroots participation in governance\u2013while at the same time providing a level of coordination and authority that makes possible cooperation on a global scale. Bah\u00e1\u2019u\u2019ll\u00e1h called these governing councils \u201cHouses of Justice.\u201d The Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed Adminstrative institution at the International level is the \u201cUniversal House of Justice\u201d.
\nThe Administrative Order of the Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed Faith is in many ways far more \u201cdemocratic\u201d than the methods by which most parliaments or other representational systems operate. And yet, because of its distinctive procedures and principles, it avoids the processes of manipulation, factionalism, and partisanship that have become features of other systems of governance worldwide.<\/p>\n

Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed elections exclude any form of electioneering or nomination. Yet they offer every individual elector the widest possible choice of candidates. At the age of 21 Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00eds become eligible to serve on elected institutions of the Bah\u00e1\u2019\u00ed administrative order.<\/p>\n
